Step 1: Pick Your Topic or Theme

The first step in the design process is to pick your topic or theme. Your topic or theme will serve as the foundation for your project and will guide your design choices. It can be helpful to choose something that you’re passionate about or that inspires you. Some examples of topics or themes could be holidays, events, current trends, or memes. Once you’ve chosen your topic or theme, you can move on to the next step.

Step 2: Pick Your Project

The next step is to pick your project. What do you want to create? Do you want to design a t-shirt, a poster, or a greeting card? Your project will dictate the size and layout of your design. It’s important to consider the purpose of your project and who your audience is. For example, if you’re designing a poster for a music festival, you may want to choose a bold and eye-catching design to attract attention.

Step 3: Pick Your Graphics

Now it’s time to pick your graphics. Graphics can include illustrations, photographs, patterns, or textures. Think about what graphics would best represent your topic or theme and your project. You can search for graphics online or create your own. Just be sure that the graphics you choose are high-quality and appropriate for your project.

Step 4: Pick Your Fonts

The final step is to pick your fonts. Fonts can have a big impact on the look and feel of your design. Consider the mood and tone you want to convey with your project and choose fonts that complement your graphics and overall design. You can choose a combination of fonts, such as a bold serif font for headlines and a script font for body text.
